Refugees need YOUR support now! Help refugees in Malaysia

Refugees do not want to be a burden on a host country, and most of them prefer to be able to work to earn an honest living. But this is sometimes difficult to do given the local circumstances and frequently, refugees and asylum-seekers need help in order to make ends meet for themselves and their families.
Many Malaysians have come forth to help refugees and asylum-seekers in a variety of ways. Some provide financial assistance while others give in-kind contributions. You can contact the UNHCR Office for further information on any of the items below.
In-kind contribution of daily items
In terms of in-kind contributions, some Malaysians have helped by:
UNHCR can help put you in touch with Non-Governmental Organisations and volunteers who can distribute such items to the refugee communities.
Special Events
Often, in conjunction with special events such as Christmas, New Year, Aidilfitri or World Refugee Day, individuals and corporations generously donate items and cash for refugee communities. For instance, for two consecutive years, Refugee Carnivals have been held in conjunction with World Refugee Day, where food, toys and treats were provided for refugee children through public donations. Partners and NGOs have also organized special outings for refugee children to visit the zoo, the aquarium or even to watch a movie at a cinema.
Cash donations
